Singapore Cab Drivers

When I am in Singapore, taking the cab is my usual mode of transportation. And really I have the most interesting conversations with the cab drivers. The good thing about the cab drivers in Singapore, generally most of them are well spoken, They too have a interesting opinion of certain topics. It's funny, some are really country proud, some just love to criticize their country. Some love Malaysia, some just dislike Malaysia - the "fights" continue - the love, hate relationship that we continue to have.
Yesterday, my cab driver was a Malay Singaporean (who looks like an Indian) and he absolutely love coming over to Malaysia. He said immediately when he goes over to JB, the whole feel and the atmosphere is so different.
Today my cab driver is a Chinese Singaporean. He told me how the ministers in Singapore are really smart, they all have white hair after 3 years on the job cos they think so much. Also he told me many people have made millions from the current property boom in Singapore. Isn't it obscene to spend S$24million for a penthouse. Basically the owner bought it at S$12million and he made S$12million when he sold it. OH God!! Where do people find this kinda of money, just to be spent on a penthouse!! Not forgetting the interesting topic on how the young generation of Singapore is so pampered cos their parents are well off thus they are not willing to take entry level job that is not paying high salary. This kids can still afford not to work cos they can live off their parents. These jobs are being filled up by willings Asian from Malaysia, Philiphines which are equally skilled, work really hard and long hours and willing to take low pay. cos the salary is still huge when they convert back home currency.

Anyway, it makes the journey so much more enjoyable and I get updated with a lot of happenings in Singapore just by talking to them.

Btw, I am getting a crash course on investments from my bro this weekend. Need to think about how to invest my money...in hope of making my million!!
