What Have I Been Doing? Part 2

>> Friday, April 18, 2008

Ok my friends...I am not proud of it but I have to admit when I think I have a problem. I have become a TV addict. :)

Everything you can think of - daytime TV, primetime TV, TIVO, internet TV, Malaysian TV, DVD, movies and even Youtube TV.

1) Let's start with TIVO. A wonderful device which records every show you want it to. My sweet hubby recorded all these shows for me before I came here.

Lost

- the writer's imagination on this show is just simply amazing. Anyone who wants to watch this, please start from season 1 or you may just hate it.

Grey's Anatomy

- back home I got the whole Season 1-3 DVD set so it was nice to be able to catch up on Season 4. Since the writer's strike is over, new episodes will be back 24/4/08.

2) Internet TV. My hubby did not record some of the "girlie" shows! But all is not lost cos you can catch up on the network's website for the past episodes anytime. Wonderful!

Brothers & Sisters

- I missed Season 1 and they only have season 2 on the net, fine with me.... it's nice to see Calista Flockhart on TV again, luckily not as neurotic.

Ugly Betty
- I was doing Season 2 marathon watching on the net just to be in time for new season starting on 24/4/08.

Lipstick Jungle

- a new pirl power series. Not too bad, Brooke Shields can act after all :)

3) Everything else on real time TV.... daytime, primetime, chick flicks, sitcoms, reality shows...goodness there is not enough time.... :)

Ellen Degenerous Show

- she is so funny, I just enjoy her show, she is just hilarous, she is my 3pm.
Oprah Winfrey Show

- ok, she is a bit boring so she is not my consistent 4pm but she does have some bizzare news that surprises me. I will blog about the top 2 bizzare news so far for me in USA in my next entry.

Samantha Who
- just a chick flick sitcom but 30mins is fast so why not?

American Idol
- reality singing competition, can't live with them, can't live without them! not too bad, I only started catching up on this when I came here. And guess who I am rooting for?

David Cook!!
- seriously he is the only one ready and with real talent....amazing amazing!

The Biggest Loser

- so why am I watching a show about fat people? There is something inspiring about transformation. That works everytime.

Top Chef

- But then of course, food works better. This show is really not bad!

4) Malaysian TV. I am so glad that we are so progressive in Malaysia. Kudos Media Prima. I can watch all my fav local shows on the net. And since I sponsored this one below it was great being able to catch it on the net.

Where the Heart is

- It was a bit slow in the begining but I really caught on to it. Cheating husband always gets me worked up. Nice to see what people were commeting on the show too. Congrats NTV7 and Mediacorp.

5) YOUTUBE. You won't believe it but this is the 2nd Korean series that I watched completely,.. every episode on youtube. Though you have to find the next episode every 11-12 mins but it was easy, it had superb subtitles, the picture quality and editing were fantastic. I really take my hat off to the fans of Korean series who painstakingly take time to do this.

The Princess Diaries (Goong)
- I first watched this series on 8TV, I missed a couple of episodes, so decided to see it all again on youtube. And really there is something about the cool lead actor...ha ha.

6) DVDs. Movies are a big deal here in US. And now there is this Blu-ray movies which gives top notch picture quality. We subscribe to Netflix which sends us a new movie (from our request list) every 3-4 days. Anyway, the one I want to highlight is not all the new movie releases but I am watching something from probably two decades ago.

The Legend of Condor Heroes
-Can you believe I am watching this? This must have been released like 20 years ago when TVB dramas were such a hit!! and mind you it was in those chunky VHS tapes and you only get a latest episode release from HK every few days. My brother gave the whole series to me and my hubby and I are really having a fun time watching it. You will be amazed by the HK celebs (who are popular now) but just an extras (KLF) in this series. The hilarous one for us was to see Stephen Chow as a prison guard in one of the episodes.

OK...after the long list (and that is just to name a few, I did not mention Dancing with the Stars, My Name is Earl, Two & the Half Men, How I Met Yr Mom, Survivor, Men In Trees, Conan, Jon Stewart, Colbert Report etc etc....ok stop), I guess you must agree that I've become a TV addict...... or probably just a desperate housewife. Oh yeah new season of Desperate Housewives is back on ABC on Sunday nite. :)
